Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced Accounting Supervisor to join our Financial Management VCFO Consulting team. The ideal candidate will oversee accounting operations for multiple client portfolios, ensure accurate financial reporting, maintain compliance with IFRS, and lead a team of accountants while supporting business growth through financial analysis and AI-driven process improvements.

Key Responsibilities :

• Supervise day-to-day accounting operations and month-end/year-end closing.
• Prepare and review financial statements in accordance with IFRS.
• Manage multiple client portfolios across various industries.
• Lead budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting activities.
• Ensure compliance with tax regulations and internal controls.
• Coordinate with auditors and support audit processes.
• Supervise and develop the accounting team.
• Utilize AI and automation tools to improve accounting efficiency.

Core Responsibilities :

1. Accounting Operations & Financial Reporting :

• Supervise full-cycle accounting functions including:
  • General ledger management
  • Accounts payable and receivable
  • Fixed assets accounting
  • Inventory and cost accounting
  • Accruals, provisions, and reconciliations
• Lead month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing processes.
• Prepare and review financial statements in compliance with IFRS.
• Ensure timely preparation of:
  • Profit & Loss Statements
  • Balance Sheets
  • Cash Flow Statements
  • Key Performance Indicators – KPI(s)
  • Budget vs. Actual Reports
• Perform variance analysis and provide financial insights.
• Handle multi-entity accounting and consolidations when required.

  2. Client Portfolio Management :

• Supervise accounting operations for multiple clients across diverse industries.
• Serve as the finance focal point for assigned client portfolios.
• Provide advisory support including:
  • Cash flow planning
  • Budgeting and forecasting
  • Financial modeling support
  • Cost optimization strategies
• Support venture capital-backed entities with:
  • Investor reporting
  • Burn rate analysis
  • Fund utilization tracking
  • Due diligence preparation
• Participate in client meetings (physical or virtual) and present financial results.

3. Industry-Specific Responsibilities :

1. Manufacturing

• Oversee cost accounting and inventory valuation.
• Monitor BOM and production costing.
• Analyze raw material usage and wastage.
• Manage stock reconciliations and warehouse audits.
• Conduct margin and product profitability analysis.

1. Tourism & Hospitality

• Supervise revenue recognition processes.
• Review operational performance by cost centers.
• Monitor supplier reconciliations and expense controls.
• Venture Capital
• Track investments and portfolio performance.
• Support capital call and distribution calculations.
• Assist in valuation adjustments and NAV preparation.

1. IT Professional Services

• Supervise project-based revenue recognition.
• Track project profitability and cost allocation.
• Monitor billing cycles and deferred revenue.

1. Compliance & Governance

• Ensure compliance with IFRS and local regulatory frameworks.
• Review VAT filings and corporate tax schedules.
• Coordinate with auditors and regulatory authorities.
• Strengthen internal controls and financial policies.
• Ensure proper documentation and audit readiness.

1. Budgeting & Financial Planning

• Lead annual budgeting processes.
• Prepare rolling forecasts and scenario analysis.
• Monitor working capital and liquidity.
• Provide strategic financial recommendations to management and clients.

1. AI Integration & Process Enhancement

• Utilize AI-powered accounting and financial tools to improve efficiency and reporting accuracy.
• Integrate automation tools into accounting workflows (e.g., reconciliations, reporting, forecasting).
• Identify opportunities to streamline processes using AI and financial technologies.
• Support digital transformation initiatives within the consulting practice.
• Train team members on AI-driven productivity tools when applicable.

1. Team Supervision

• Supervise and review work of junior / senior accountants.
• Assign tasks and monitor performance.
• Provide technical mentoring and coaching.
• Drive continuous improvement within the accounting team.

Qualifications :

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• 6–8 years of accounting experience.
• Minimum 3 years in a supervisory role.
• Strong knowledge of IFRS and financial reporting.
• Experience with ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, Odoo, QuickBooks, or similar).
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
• CPA, CMA, or ACCA is a plus.
• Experience in a consulting or multi-industry environment is preferred.
